When will it come to a head? Everyone knows about it and nobody is doing anything about it. NIL, transfer portal, extra year? The best line is that the college team Houston Cougars had a starting five older than the NBA Houston Rockets starting five. As Final Four closes, basketball on unpredictable ground - Newsday

Article mentions Dan Skillings among the UC athletes with individual NIL opportunities with Medpace. Also saw video of him this weekend promoting Fifth Third. Good to see him getting legit NIL deals.Originally posted by Lobot View PostLocal NIL things. UC signs a deal with Medpace for aiddtional sponsorship.

Arch Manning will not accept any NIL deals until he is a star. Some are applauding him for his stance others are criticizing him because he does not need the NIL deal.Last edited by bearcatbret; 04-27-2023, 08:13 PM.

There an announcement and press conference today with Cincy Reigns and Rhinegeist Brewing. They've formed a partnership of some sort and the details will come about 2:00 today, if I have the time right.Brent Wyrick

Somewhat self promotional but this got out there beyond the UC community on Twitter which is a good thing for recruits to see.
It has been almost two years now since the NCAA instituted its policy regarding name, image and likeness (NIL) for student athletes. Almost immediately following the establishment of NIL rules and policies, University of Cincinnati Athletics dove headfirst by launching IMPACT, a comprehensive NIL development program. UC then went a step further to maximize those opportunities for UC student-athletes by establishing a groundbreaking partnership with Altius Sports Partners as one of six departments that will participate and place full-time Altius personnel as part of a new program.Brent Wyrick

Nick Saban had some opinions on NIL money today. Basically, he sees greater inequality based on NIL spending. “You think there’s disparity in college football right now? There’s going to be a lot more in the future.” https://sports.yahoo.com/nick-saban-...211928272.html

A couple of things out there from Chris Vannini and also On3 stating that the IRS is telling NIL collectives that they are not tax exempt. I’ll get links up later for those donating to Cincy Reigns. It looks this is guidance so far and not a final decision.Brent Wyrick

Several internet folks have pointed that they’re directing the schools to ignore the various state NIL laws and only listen to them. Pretty blatantly bad legal advice there by whoever is representing the NCAA.Originally posted by Lobot View PostBrent Wyrick

So according to this newletter ($) and a quoted USA Today article therein, Congress had an agreement on an NIL bill done until "several legislators" tried to kick the HBCUs out of D1 football. And that's where the deal fell apart.
